Morning - I started a thread on Saturday (2-days ago) about my wallet not synching and Coinbox kindly linked me to support chat (which would not work until I opened Firefox, in Linux Mint).
Support chat stopped chatting after about 3 hours and left. (I emailed two copies of the chat but neither arrived.) Having sweated this over the weekend, I suspect I used a BTC address when I should have used a Monero address to receive the swap.
The wallet was doing nothing for about half an hour or so while I was on chat (still would not synch), but then suddenly started sending. Support said there was ‘nothing to worry about’. Now, the transaction is finished and the funds are untraceable. (Why didn’t support stop the transfer, sending took a very long time?)
Anyway, as before, I don’t know what to do. (I cannot log into the Web3 support page now.)
Any help would be much appreciated. (Coinbox locked the original thread.)
They likely disappeared because their account has been deleted and their IP address banned from signing up again in the forum. As Seth said previously, the only two official channels to reach out to Cake Wallet’s support is through the in-app live chat feature or via e-mail, nowhere else; all others are and will be impersonators attempting to grab your seed and funds.
I have effectively disabled direct messages between forum users because I see little use case and it just leaves the door open for scammers to wreak havoc. I am sorry this happened.
