Hi there,
I’m attempting to migrate from Exodus to cake wallet. Using Mac OSX desktop app.
Attempting to create a Monero wallet and I get a very long string on nonsense that starts with “Invalid arguments…” and it wont create a wallet.
Before I try a different wallet service… will try here before jumping ship.
I’m a tech noob, so complex solutions of digging around code is too much for me.
Hey there!
Can you please share a screenshot of this error? You can also contact Cake Support via the In-App Support, or by emailing [email protected] so we can best assist you moving forward
The primary options are to create a new wallet with Cake Wallet, and to transfer your XMR from Exodus to the newly created Cake Wallet, or you can also choose to restore your Exodus XMR Wallet from seed on the Cake Wallet app.
From your message, it sound like you’re trying to restore your Exodus XMR Wallet from seed on Cake, but keep encountering this “Invalid Arguments…” error message. My concern is that the ‘seed’ you are entering is either not being entered correctly, or that the ‘seed’ you are entering is in fact the seed to the Exodus multi-coin wallet itself, and not the 25-word mnemonic seed for your Exodus XMR Wallet specifically.
If you visit the Exodus guide I linked above, you can read through the “How do I import my Exodus Monero wallet into Cake Wallet?” section, as it details how you can use the Exodus desktop app to access the 25-word mnemonic seed to your XMR Wallet. You’d then be able to use this 25-word seed to successfully recover your Exodus XMR Wallet on the Cake Wallet app, where you’d be able to continue using this XMR Wallet moving forward.
I hope this helps to further clarify the situation, but if you still have any questions or concerns, our Support Team is available via the In-App Support for live chats, and also available via email at the [email protected] email address. Thanks again for your interest in Cake Wallet!
