Why are Zcash (ZEC), Decred (DCR), and Zano (ZANO) not supported on the linux desktop flatpak version?

I have Cake Wallet installed on both Android and Linux desktop via flatpak from Github. Both are versions 5.9.0. However, I only see the following on the desktop client:

  • Monero (XMR)
  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • BNB Smart Chain (BNB)
  • Solana (SOL)
  • Tron (TRX)
  • Dogecoin (DOGE)
  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • Base (BASE)
  • Arbitrum (ARB)
  • Polygon (POL)
  • Nano (XNO)

These only seem to available on the Android version:

  • Zcash (ZEC)
  • Decred (DCR)
  • Zano (ZANO)

Is there a specific reason why the last 3 are not included in the desktop version? Will they be supported on the desktop version in the future?

No specific reason that I know of, other than we haven’t looked into desktop releases much for the past few months and there have been massive new features implemented, such as offering support for those such coins you mention, but many other things.

A desktop overhaul, revamp and overall fix release is part of our yearly roadmap and you may expect some better coverage and support moving forward after that. However, there’s no clear ETA at this time. The best thing to do for now would be to use mobile.

Thanks for reaching out!
